In 2007, He took 3rd in Freestyle and 1st in Greco/Roman at California’s “USA Wrestling” state tournament, qualifying him for national competitions. At the national duals, he went undefeated. While at the national tournament, he blew out his knee. After a long recovery period, he came back his senior year in 2009, achieving even more. Josh took 5th at the CIF State Wrestling Championship and returned to take 1st in both of the Freestyle and Greco/Roman state tournaments. The University of Chicago accepted him and he wrestled there for 4 years. Upon graduating and returning home, he started giving back by coaching at his old high school. His years of experience grappling have lead him to take up Jiu-Jitsu. Some of his other hobbies include snowboarding and getting out into nature. Although teaching is still new, he finds great reward in watching the progress of his students.
